If you haven’t heard of the hit television show Dragon’s Den by now, you’ve either been on extended vacation on Antarctica or you don’t have cable. Either way you won’t be in the dark much longer as Meaford, Ontario hosts it’s own Dragon’s Den competition for local entrepreneurs eager for investment capitol.
Meaford Hall Hosts Dragon’s Den Meaford
This Wednesday, Oct. 26, will be the third annual Dragon’s Den hosted by the Meaford & District Chamber of Commerce, presented at Meaford Hall with Canopy Media front and center as an event sponsor.

The overall winner of Dragon’s Den Meaford can look forward to a minimum of $1250 in start-up money from the Dragon’s themselves along with a bevy of marketing services from Canopy Media including:

Professional Website – We’ll build the winner a website that works, getting their idea online.

Full User Control – We’ll install a WordPress content management system, giving the winner complete access to your site from one control panel on an unlimited hosting package for 2012, including email account setup and maintenance.

Get Found Online – Once the site is up and running, we’ll apply a few marketing techniques to make sure the website gets found. On-Page SEO, Local SEO and Business Directory submissions are all standard here.

Track Data and Grow – Turning your web traffic into sales gets easier when you know the numbers. We’ll install tracking software on the site giving the winner the ability to crunch those numbers into useful info. They’ll get regular reports on that traffic, and the ability to build targeting strategies over time.

Go Social – Being active in social media is part of the game and Canopy Media will make sure the winner can play. We’ll create and setup social media accounts and then integrate those accounts with the website, making it easy for users to connect to the winner and vice versa.
The People’s Choice
New this year is the people’s choice award. Audience members will get to cast votes for their favourite entrepreneurial idea of Dragon’s Den. This year the people will be heard so if you want your say make sure to attend.

Five dollars from every ticket sold will be put into the prize fund that will be awarded at the end of the night. Since it’s inception, Dragon’s Den Meaford has created five business start-ups with approximately $57,000.00 in cash and contributions going into local economy.
